Old Southendian & Southchurch 83 (26.4 overs)

Shenfield won by 89 runs

Shenfield maintained their promotion challenge with a comfortable 89-run victory over struggling Old Southendian & Southchurch.

Lesiba Ngoepe’s 47 off 34 balls provided the foundation to the homes sides’ 172 – Matthew Austin taking 4/61 and Ahmed Khawaja 3/18 for the Garon Park-based club.

However, an all too familiar batting collapse saw the Old Boys skittled inside 27 overs for just 83. Matthew Darvill did his utmost, hitting an unbeaten 37, but with those around him falling cheaply, coupled with Mehad Khan (3/17) and Jack Plom (3/34) providing the bulk of the damage, the result never really looked in serious doubt.
