Six on the bounce for in-form Old Boys

Old Southendian Reserves 3-1 May & Baker Eastbrook Community ‘A’

In-form Old Southendian Reserves recorded their sixth successive victory in all competitions as May & Baker Eastbrook Community ‘A’ were beaten by three goals to one in an entertaining Essex Olympian League Division Two clash at Garon Park.

Nico Dubocuhet’s centre was diverted in by a May & Baker defender to hand the home side an early advantage. And after hitting the frame of the goal on three occasions, the Old Boys doubled their advantage of the stroke of half-time when Sean Simmonett provided a cool finish.

Ollie Tatton-Bennett seized on some hesitant defending to add a third after the restart and although May & Baker pulled one back, it was a case of too little, too late for the East London side.

Speaking after the game, Old Boy’s Josh Bambury told Yellow Sport: “May & Baker kept going and played some good football, but we managed the game well – particularly the second half.

“We used our experience to see the game out. The run continues. There is plenty to be positive about.”
