Skipper’s knock decisive for Rainham

Walthamstow 220/7 (40.0 overs)
Rainham 223/6 (38.4 overs)
Walthamstow won the toss and elected to bat
Rainham won by four wickets

An unbeaten 87 from Daniel Skipper helped Rainham overcome Walthamstow in competitive Westley Division clash at Spring Farm Park

Having won the toss, Walthamstow’s Rifan Faiz set the ball rolling with a knock of 94*. However, runs appeared difficult to come by as the visitors – without a win to their name this season – struggled to 220/7.

Biren Patel and Jon O’Neill took two wickets apiece as the hosts’ attack kept Walthamstow in sight. And that proved equally crucial, as Rainham – led by Skipper’s knock – reached their target with fourteen balls to spare.

Rainham captain, O’Neill was with Skipper at the conclusion on 31* – James Fenn, with 3/19, doing his utmost to keep Walthamstow in the contest until the final stages.

Points: Rainham 20 Walthamstow 6
