Small steps in the right direction for Scopes’ Beach Boys

Tonbridge Angels v Concord Rangers – Vanarama National League South – Longmead Stadium -Tuesday 7:45pm – Preview

Despite being denied all three points late on at Chippenham Town on Saturday, Danny Scopes took the positives, moved on and set the focus on Concord Rangers Vanarama National League South trip to Tonbridge Angels this evening.

That point at Hardenhuish Park edged the Beach Boys further away from the dropzone, and they will be keen to build on that platform against an Angels’ side that was beaten in each of their last two outings.

“We are a work in progress and still finding our feet,” the Concord boss told Yellow Sport.

“I’ve seen progress and belief in parts of the last two performances, suggesting we are on the right track.

“Hopefully, tonight is another step in the right direction for us as a group.”

Scopes recognised Tonbridge offered much more of a threat than recent results might suggest, adding: “It’s another big test.

“We will have to match their fight and then try to have an impact on the game when we can.”

Lewis Simper could feature for the Beach Boys after arriving on loan from Cambridge United ahead of the 1-1 draw at Chippenham.
