Report by Andrew Strutt

Westcliff concluded their Mixed Premier season with an 8-1 victory over Phoenix Flames. Lee Scott and Adrienne Munro and Matt Ross and Jade Timms both won three perfect rubbers each and were supported by a brace from Avram Chua and Daphne Yap. Vikki Walker and Ben Bradford grabbed the point for the away side. The victory leaves Westcliff top of the table with 25 points.

However, Fitzwimarc are just a point behind after they beat their Second team 9-0 and they still have one more match to play. Liz Gotts and Alan Adkins, Marie Baker and Phil Tuffee and Rebecca Terry and Michael Clark made up the winning team for Fitz. Harris Foster-Carter and Emily Hall came closest to grabbing a rubber for the Fitz Seconds team who remain bottom of the league.

In the division below, Westcliff Seconds kept their unbeaten season on track with a 7-2 victory over Phoenix Flames Seconds. Philippa Pearson and Matt Ayres picked up a hat-trick and were backed up by doubles from Farnaz Siddiq and Matt Tonge and Liz Cullen and David Clark. Carly Horsler and Jay Clark helped the Flames to their two points in a match where five of the nine rubbers went to three games.

Finally, in the Ladies Premier, Eastwood held Fitzwimarc to 3-3 draw. They were helped to their three rubbers though as Liz Gotts retired injured after the first game in her first rubber for Fitz, handing Eastwood the points. Chloe Baker and Emily Hall edged out Debbie Moon and Dawn Muggleton in three games for Fitz, before Sarah Hall partnered Chloe and then Emily to two more wins to see the match finish as a tie.
