Fitzwimarc began the defence of their Masters Premier title with an 6-0 victory away at Eastwood. Angela McDaniel, Pam Lee, Spencer Collins and Paul Chaplin formed the triumphant visiting side. It wasn’t all plain sailing for the reigning champions though as three rubbers went to three games. Lorene Roberts and Debbie Moon narrowly missed out on getting a rubber for the home side who finished third last season.

In the division below, Fitzwimarc Seconds and Thirds shared the spoils in a 3-3 draw. Donna Venables and Kera Lewis both won two rubbers each for the Seconds while Ian Moorcroft completed a perfect hat-trick for the Thirds. Both sides move onto six points with the Thirds up into second and the Seconds up into third.

Leighway made it three wins from three in the Ladies Premier with another dominant performance against Eastwood. Lynne Swan, June Hammond, Viv Gillard and Mia Petchey made up the winning team for the home side. All of them won three perfect rubbers in a 6-0 triumphant. Charlotte Mortlock and Emma Harris came closest to getting a point for Eastwood.

Finally, in the Ladies First division, Fitzwimarc continued their impressive start to the season by notching up a fourth win on the bounce. Alicia Chu, Jenny Chu, Mandy Holland and Mair Dew all won three perfect rubbers for Fitz as they won 6-0 away at Westcliff Seconds. Vicki Russell and Barbara Childs did the best for the home side who remain in third.
