Westcliff closed to within two points of Leighway at the top of the Ladies Premier with a 6-0 victory over rock bottom Phoenix Flames. Nicola Waller, Adrienne Munro, Philippa Pearson and Jade Timms formed the triumphant team for Westcliff. Carly Horsler and Vikki Walker fared best for the Flames.

Eastwood remain two points further back from Westcliff in third after they also picked up a 6-0 win. Kirsty Binstead, Charlotte Mortlock, Emma Harris and Clare Roberts made up the winning team for the home side as they beat Chelmsford Casuals. Rebecca Terry and Marion Neale came closest to getting a point for the visitors who are four points clear of Phoenix at the bottom.

There were three matches in the Ladies First division and leaders Fitzwimarc suffered their first defeat of the season with a 5-1 loss at Eastwood Seconds. Lorene Roberts and Dawn Muggleton both won all three of their rubbers for the home team. Kera Lewis and Emma Dixon got the point for the visitors.

Westcliff Seconds missed the chance to close the gap though and can no longer catch Fitz as they were soundly beaten 6-0 at B & BP. Emma Potter, Tamsin Collinge, Wendy Hyde and Dawn Eagon made up the winning team for B & BP. Westcliff could only field three players with Barbara Childs and Sandy Woolacott doing the best.

Fitzwimarc Seconds stay in third after they won 6-0 at Hawkwell. Donna Venables, Kay Bailey, Emma Dixon and Emily Hall all picked up hat-tricks for Fitz. Four of the six rubbers went to three games though with Farnaz Siddiq and Sue Mills closest to getting a point for the Hawks. 

Finally, SLH Rayleigh triumphed 5-4 away at Hawkwell Seconds in the Men’s Second division. Joe Garnett and Tom Negus secured a perfect three rubbers for SLH with Mike Smith and Peter Hall getting a double. Andrew Strutt and Richard Gardner got a brace for the home team while Dan Hagon and Alex Gilbert and John Yates and Ben Gates picked up a rubber each.
