Old Southendian ‘A’ 4-0 Corinthians ‘A’

Old Boys joint-manager, James Elliot, insisted his side were somewhat flattered by their margin of victory over Corinthians at Garon Park.

“It was a scrappy game in truth, which was always likely to be the case given the hard, dried out playing surface and the strong wind,” he told Yellow Sport

“In terms of the result, 4-0 was flattering in the end – I feel like we certainly have more to give as a team. That being said, it’s another three points and a solid start to the season.”

Earls Hall United 3-4 Rectory Rovers

Boss, Ronnie Docherty, offered an honest assessment following Earls Hall United’s 4-3 Division One defeat to Rectory Rovers. “Honest opinion – they deserved the win,” he told Yellow Sport.

“We were 2-0 up against the run of play, then led 3-1 with the wind at our backs after the break. But once they got back to 3-2, we found it difficult to stop them.”
