Manager, Andy Crow, heaped praise on his Old Southendian side following their last-gasp Essex Junior Cup triumph over Ashingdon at Garon Park.

The Old Boys led thanks to Russell Judd’s first-half strike. However, the battling visitors appeared to have sent the tie into extra-time after hitting back in the final minute.

But the Old Boys weren’t finished. Sam Langton popped up to win it in stoppage time, much to the delight of boss, Crowe.

“Our reserve team won this club last time out so for a third team to compete in the competition is quite remarkable.

“We have a hugely talented squad, so who knows? Only six more games to go to replicate that success.”
