Spot-kick heartache for defeated Daggers

Dagenham & Redbridge 1-2 Sutton United

Harry Beautyman scored twice from the spot as Sutton United condemned Dagenham & Redbridge to a frustrating Vanarama National League defeat at the Chigwell Construction Stadium.

The Sutton United midfielder converted midway through the opening period after Callum Reynolds felled Isaac Olaofe. Then held his nerve deep into stoppage-time, after David Ajiboye had been impeded, to snatch the points.

The Daggers had restored parity when Liam Gordon powered home a Myles Weston centre on the hour. The defeat leaves Daryl McMahon’s men seven points above the bottom three. They return to Vanarama National League action on Saturday, February 27 when they face Yeovil Town at Huish Park (3pm).
