Spot-kick woe for struggling U’s

Stevenage v Colchester United – Sky Bet League Two – Lamex Stadium – Report

Stevenage 1-0 Colchester United

Elliott List’s spot-kick in first-half stoppage-time condemned Colchester United to their seventh Sky Bet League Two defeat of the season.

List profited after he had been felled by U’s keeper, Shamal George. And despite the North Essex side enjoying the greater percentage of chances, fellow strugglers, Stevenage held firm to move level on points with Hayden Mullins’ erratic outfit.

Frank Nouble was left frustrated by an assistants’ flag, while Sylvester Jasper also went close. The U’s sit four points above the dropzone in twentieth place.

Colchester United return to Sky Bet League Two action on Tuesday, November 23 when Exeter City visit the JobServe Community Stadium (7:45pm).
