Notts County 3-3 Hornchurch
(Hornchurch won 5-4 on penalties)
Hornchurch came from behind three times at Meadow Lane before dramatically progressing to the Buildbase FA Trophy final after seeing off Vanarama National League Notts County on a penalty shootout.
Kyle Wootton headed Notts into an early lead. However, Lewwis Spence’s strike deflected off Rawlinson and eluded Sam Slocombe to restore parity.
Again, the home side forged ahead – Ruben Rodrigues the man on target for the Magpies, but the dogged Pitching In Isthmian League Premier Division side was again on terms when Liam Nash levelled before the interval.
Elisha Sam appeared to have won it for Notts – converting Jim O’Brien’s goalbound attempt. But the Urchins forced a shootout – Nash netting in stoppage-time.
Former Charlton Athletic frontman, Chris Dickson converted the decisive penalty sending the Bridge Avenue club through to their first-ever FA Trophy final where they will meet Hereford – 1-0 winners over Woking – on Saturday, May 22.
