Tottenham Hotspur has confirmed that Nowiegen goalkeeper, Aurora Mikalsen, has undergone surgery to an injury sustained to her left ankle.
The 24-year-old stopper will now undergo a short period of recovery in her homeland before commencing rehabilitation. Mikalsen, who has been capped by Norway at youth and under 23 levels, is expected to return to training towards the end of the year.
Meanwhile, the Lilywhites 19-year-old midfielder, Elisha Sulola, has put pen to paper on her first professional contract.
Sulola made her senior debut for Tottenham in their 6-0 FA Women’s Continental League Cup demolition of Lewes in December 2019. The player netted her first goal in a 5-0 hammering of Barnsley a month later.
Speaking to www.tottenhamhotspur.com, Sulola enthused: “I’m really pleased to sign my first professional contract, it’s a step that I have been working towards for a while.
“I’m excited to play my part in the future of this great Club and being a local girl who has come through the ranks makes it even more special for me.”
Tottenham’s FA Women’s Super League derby with Arsenal at Meadow Park has been chosen for live broadcast by BT Sport.
The match will take place at the Gunners shared home with Boreham Wood FC on Sunday, October 18 (2:30pm).
