Pacos de Ferreira v Tottenham Hotspur – UEFA Europa Conference League play-off, first leg – Estadio Capital do Movel – Report
Paços de Ferreira 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur
A much-changed Tottenham Hotspur side slipped to an embarrassing single-goal defeat in their UEFA Europa Conference League play-off, first leg tie with Paços de Ferreira in Portugal.
Summer acquisitions, Romero, Bryan Gil and Pierluigi Gollini were all handed starts in an otherwise largely inexperienced side.
Lucas Silva profited from a Nuno Santos’ pass to net the game’s only goal on the stroke of half-time. The disappointing North Londoners failed to muster an effort on goal during the ninety minutes and must now considerably raise their game or face a disastrous European exit at the first hurdle.
Tottenham Hotspur now turns their attention back to the Premier League when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux on Sunday, August 22 (2pm).
