Tottenham Hotspur are through to the last sixteen of the Carabao Cup despite squandering a two-goal advantage against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux.
Tanguy Ndombele handed Spurs an early lead after Oliver Skipp had provided an opportunity and Harry Kane made it two midway through the opening half, racing clear to beat Wolves keeper, John Ruddy after Dele had slotted through to the England captain.
Leander Dendoncker nodded Wolves back into the tie shortly before the break. Then Daniel Podence thumped home to level the score just before the hour mark.
With no further scoring, Kane, Sergio Reguilón and Bryan Gil were all successful from the resulting penalty shootout.
Tottenham Hotspur return to Premier League action on Sunday, September 26 when they face Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium (4:30pm).
