Dinamo Zagreb v Tottenham Hotspur – UEFA Europa League Round of Sixteen (second-leg) – Stadion Maksimir – Thursday 5:55pm – Preview
Tottenham Hotspur holds a useful lead against the Croatian league leaders but with criticism ringing in their ears following last Sunday’s limp performance and subsequent North London Derby defeat at the hands of Arsenal.
Harry Kane’s brace settled the first-leg in N17. However, with Dinamo expected to come out all guns blazing in a bid to salvage the tie, Jose Mourinho’s approach will be under the microscope as they look to progress
“I don’t think it’s such a good lead,” the Lilywhites chief confessed.
“I feel it’s open, I don’t feel it’s game over if we go away and we lose 2-0 and we play the second leg at home, I don’t feel it’s over.
“I would feel it’s very difficult but open so the way to approach the game is to think that way and to think that we still have a match to play and to get a positive result.
Mourinho continued: “At the end of the ninety-minutes if we lose 1-0 or we lose 2-1 or even 3-1, we would qualify. But if we qualify with a defeat in this game, I will not be happy.
“That’s the way I want the players to think and that’s the way we want to play. We don’t go there to defend a lead, we go there to win a game.”
Giovani Lo Celso could feature for Tottenham. Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg misses out through suspension while Heung-Min Son is out due to the hamstring issue picked up at the Emirates Stadium.
Jeevesie’s prediction: Dinamo Zagreb 1-1 Tottenham Hotspur
