South East Stars won by six wickets

The Sunrisers struggles continued as the South East Stars, boosted by an unbeaten 73 from Alice Capsey, recorded a six with Racheal Heyhoe Flint Trophy victory at The Cloudfm County Ground, Chelmsford.

Capsey’s impressive knock came off 75 balls and included nine boundaries, helping the visitors over the line with a ball shy of thirteen overs remaining.

Earlier, Naomi Dattani (33), Grace Scrivens (30), Cordelia Griffith and Katie Midwood (both 27) had supplied the bulk of the Sunrisers 198 – Tash Farrant 3/24 for the visitors. However, once again the lack of a batter going on to reach a sizable score proved costly. Capsey was ably supported by Aylish Cranstone (46 off 66) and Chloe Brewer (40 off 49) as the Stars secured their second victory of the campaign, inflicting a fifth loss in as many games on the hosts.
