Storm too strong for Sunrisers

Sunrisers v Western Storm – Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy – Cloudfm County Ground – Summary

Western Storm 265/6 (50.0 overs)

Sunrisers 179 (45.0 overs)

Sunrisers won the toss and elected to bowl

Western Storm won by 86 runs

The Sunrisers continued to find the going tough as they were beaten for the third time in as many games in the Rachel Heyhoe Flint Trophy.

This time, a strong Western Storm outfit roared to victory at the Cloudfm County Ground, Chelmsford, largely thanks to an impressive knock of 85 from skipper, Sophie Luff.

Alex Griffiths chipped in with 43 as the visitors amassed 265/6. And that proved to be ample as the Sunrisers struggles continued.

Jo Gardner providence the only innings of note for the home side, scoring 54 off 76 balls. But with those around her falling relatively cheaply, the target never really looked realistic.

Fi Morris impressed with the ball for the Storm, taking 5/26. The Sunrisers return to action on Friday, September 11 when they take on the Southern Vipers at the Ageas Bowl (10:30am).
