Striker Carter to leave Gunners

LEGENDARY Arsenal striker, Danielle Carter, will leave the club when her current contract concludes at the end of the month.

The Solihull-born player linked up with the North Londoners in 2009 after rising through the ranks at the Leyton Orient Girls Centre of Excellence.

Carter – the Gunners longest-serving player – netted the winning goal in their 2016 FA Cup triumph over Chelsea. The 27-year-old netted 60 times for Arsenal, and played a pivotal role in five Continental Cups and four FA Cup successes as well as earning international recognition with England from youth to senior level and marked her full debut in September 2015 with a hat-trick as England thrashed Estonia 8-0 in a one-side UEFA Women’s Euro 2017 qualifying clash.
