Mady Villiers hit 36, while Grace Scrivens finished unbeaten on 34 as the Sunrisers recorded a long overdue seven-wicket Charlotte Edwards Cup, Group B victory over Western Storm at Taunton.

Indeed, this was the Sunrisers first-ever competitive win since their foundation in 2019.

Villiers knock came from 26 balls, while Scrivens 46-minute stint in the middle consisted of 35 balls, two 4s and a six as the visitors reached their target inside eighteen overs. Alex Griffiths, Danielle Gibson and Nicole Harvey enjoying minimal success with the ball for the home side.

Earlier, Western Storm had posted 129/6 – Wicketkeeper/batter Natasha Wraith top-scoring with 36 – Sonali Patel’s 2/26 the best figures from a Sunrisers bowler.
