Super Saxons swamp Leighton Buzzard

Southend Saxons 76-0 Leighton Buzzard

Southend Saxons sent out a clear message to their London One North rivals by running in no less than twelve tries to overwhelm Leighton Buzzard 76-0 at a packed Warnes Bridge.

On a bright but crisp afternoon, Tom Day led the way, crossing the line four times, while Blue Newton and Matt Bevan bagged two apiece – Jack MacVeigh doing further damage with the boot, kicking six conversions in this one-sided encounter.

Matt Wagstaff, Fraser Banks, Steven Walker and Jake Rawinsky were also amongst the tries. The results saw Saxons move up to fourth in the table. Meanwhile, Jacob O’Kill picked up the Man of the Match award following a tireless and ruthless performance.
