Taxi driver robbed at knifepoint in Rochford

Police are appealing for information after a taxi driver was robbed at knifepoint in Rochford this morning, Saturday October 12.

At around 8.45am two men threatened a woman in her vehicle in The Drive. They then made demands for cash before running off with a two-figure sum.

The men ran off down an alleyway which leads through into St Marks Field.

The first has been described as being white, aged in his mid-20s to 30s, of a slim build and had bleached blond or fair hair that was poking out the sides of his hat.

He was described as being a little scruffy, unshaven and was wearing a sports tracksuit style jacket that was dark in colour, blue jeans and a dark coloured baseball cap.

The second man has been described as being white, aged in his mid-30s, of a slim to an average build and had very short fair hair and stubble which was greying.

Police would like to hear from anyone who noticed the incident or who saw the men running off.
