Taylor hopeful that lessons have been learned

Solihull Moors v Dagenham & Redbridge – SportNation.bet Stadium – Vanarama National League – Saturday 3pm

PETER TAYLOR was left frustrated with the start his side made against in-form Barrow on Tuesday evening but was hopeful his side had got it out of their system following an improved second-half showing and subsequent work on the training ground.

Dior Angus and Scott Quigley handed the Cumbrians a two-goal advantage midway through the first half. And although the Daggers looked much more like their old selves after the interval, they never really looked like building on last weekend’s Vanarama National League success over Wrexham at Victoria Road.

“Barrow are a really, really good footballing team,” Taylor explained to www.daggers.co.uk.

“I know they got beat on Saturday but we knew they could really pass the ball around – and they have done that.

“But we gave them two very poor goals – You can’t give a very good team like that easy chances. We should have defended much better for the two goals.

“Very disappointed, but I thought the second half we recovered. We played a little bit more direct – a bit more than I wanted to. But we nearly got a goal and if we’d got a goal it might have been a different outcome.”

Taylor’s thoughts turned to this Saturday’s important clash with Solihull Moors – a team level on points with the Daggers, but sitting one place higher on goal difference: “We’ll look at tonight and sort out the problems we’ve had tonight. We’ll then prepare on Thursday and Friday for Solihull – Simple as that.”
