Teen charged after burglary in Loughton

A teenager has been charged with burglary, possessing a bladed article and possessing a Class B drug in Loughton.

Police were called at about 3.20pm on Friday November 17 following reports of a burglary at a property in the south of the town. A suspect had forced entry to the property through a window.

Officers arrived at the scene within six minutes and a suspect fled the property, throwing away what appeared to be a knife.

After pursuing them through the gardens of neighbouring properties, officers arrested the suspect.

A 17-year-old boy has been charged with burglary, possessing a bladed article and possessing a Class B drug. He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday November 20.
