Teenager assaulted in Southend

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Southend earlier today (February 29).

Officers were called to Western Esplanade shortly after 3pm following reports of a man being located with serious injuries.

The victim, a 17-year-old boy was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Early enquiries indicated that the victim had been assaulted close to the Westcliff Hotel.
