Three men have been arrested following the death of a man in Dagenham.

Police were called at 12:06am on Sunday, August 14 to reports of a fight at the junction of Ford Road and Broad Street.

Officers attended the scene along with the London Ambulance Service but a 60-year-old man died at the scene.

Formal identification awaits and a post-mortem examination will be held in due course.

A third man, aged 23, has since been arrested on suspicion of murder.

The investigation is being led by detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command.

Detective Chief Inspector Kate Blackburn said: “At this stage we believe an altercation happened between a group of men and the victim, who was with a friend. This then became physical, leading to the victim sadly suffering fatal injuries.

“We have three men in custody, but would still like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or the lead up to it as soon as possible.”
