Three men who were arrested after a collision in Epping High Road, Epping, which happened shortly before 4am on Saturday morning have been released under investigation.
A 21-year-old man and an 18-year-old man were arrested on suspicion of attempted theft of a motor vehicle, theft of a motor vehicle, using a motor vehicle in public place without third party insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, failing to stop when required and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink driving and theft of a motor vehicle.
The road was closed in both directions while investigations were carried out.
Police are again appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has any footage of it to get in touch.
