Three wickets from Charlie Haddon went some way towards Shenfield’s victory at Garon Park

Haddon took 3/23, while Jack Plom, Mehad Khan and Lesiba Ngoepe each bagged a brace as the visitors successfully defended 131

Skipper Ollie Ekers had top-scored for Shenfield, hitting 33 off 51 balls, while Haris Mahmood and Tom Ballington each contributed 21 – Ahmed Khawaja with 3/16 and Ahsan Yousaf 3/30 for the Old Boys who were looking to build on last weekend’s victory over Ilford at Valentines Park.

But the host’s response continually danced on thin ice. Jamil Ahmed scored 22 and Max Craddock 20 as the Old Boys struggled for momentum and subsequently fell frustratingly just short.
