Top cup action in the pipeline for local cricket enthusiasts

There are plenty of exciting ties for local cricket enthusiasts to get their teeth into when the Dukes Essex League Cup and Twenty20 competitions
gets underway next month.

First-round ties are set for Saturday, April 24 with 30 of the regions top clubs involved in the competition.

Both Brentwood and Hornchurch have been handed byes to the second round, while highlights of the opening stage see ambitious Leigh-On-Sea head to Upminster, while Wanstead & Snaresbrook host Wickford.

Ilford are paired with Old Southendian & Southchurch at Valentines Park, while Billericay host Southend-on-Sea & EMT.

The Dukes Essex League Cup first round draw in full is as follows;

Meanwhile, the Dukes Essex T20 competition begins a month later on Saturday, May 31.

Holders, Hornchurch visit Shenfield in the pick of the first-round ties, while there’s a big derby at Overton Drive where Wanstead & Snaresbrook take on Buckhurst Hill.
