Sharp-shooting Wakering Blacks hit fifteen goals in four matches during the latest round of Essex Walking Football League over 60 division fixtures at Melbourne Park.

Former New Zealand full international, Peter Henry took the plaudits, netting four times in a 4-0 victory over a stronger than usual Southend side.

The Seasiders offered stern resistance but eventually proved to be no match for the villagers’ slick football. And that proved to be the case when Eastwood Flacons provided the opposition Henry, Paul Tregent and Mark Withers on target in a comfortable 3-0 success.

Concord Rangers twice managed to breach the Wakering rearguard. However, Tregent’s stylish hat-trick pointed the way, while Paul Pinch was also on target as the Blacks recorded another triumph by four goals to two.

The goals continued to flow in Wakering’s final match of the round. This time, Grays Athletic were on the receiving end, the impressive Tregent netting all four in a 4-0 success which lifted them back to the top of the table, seven points clear of Norwich City, who have three games in hand.
