Towngate Theatre, Basildon, in association with Simon Fielding Ltd, is to make their hit pantomime Snow White available to stream over the festive period.
With this year’s planned production Beauty and the Beast postponed until 2021 because of the coronavirus pandemic, the screening will provide some Christmas cheer to audiences missing out on their panto tradition.
Snow White, from 2018, is the biggest selling pantomime in the Towngate’s history.
Simon Fielding, who starred, directed and co-produced the panto, said: “In these uncertain and worrying times, the thought of not bringing any panto magic to our wonderful and loyal audiences was unthinkable.
“We decided that we had too do something to lift everyone’s spirits – and what better way than with our most popular panto of all time?”
Simon Scott-Pearce, Towngate’s theatre manager, said: “Every year for the last 15 years we have been able to bring families together with the Towngate’s pantomimes. I’m pleased to say that even in these unprecedented times, we can continue with this wonderful tradition.
There will be two screenings available to stream. Tickets cost £10 per household with unlimited views during the chosen dates.
Audiences can choose between the first screening, which will be available from 11am Wednesday December 23 until midnight Monday December 28, or the second screening which will be available from 11am on Tuesday December 29 until midnight Sunday January 3.
