Transfer Deadline Day – Colchester United

Colchester United have bolstered their ranks by recruiting Camron Gbadebo, Sam Hornby and Tyreik Wright.

Manchester City youngster, Gbadebo links up with the U’s on a loan deal until the end of the current campaign. 

The 19-year-old defender experienced senior football during a similar spell with Vanarama National League side, AFC Fylde. Speaking to, U’s Director of Football, Tony Humes explained: “Cam has come to us with a lot of potential and hopefully he can fulfil that potential with us.

“Hopefully, he can join the group of young players we have at the club that are around the first-team squad and that he can challenge for a place in that squad.

Goalkeeper, Hornsby also arrives on loan for the remainder of the campaign. The 27-year-old comes in from Bradford City where he has made 24 first-team appearances.

The stopper previously represented Burton Albion and Port Vale. He will be available for the U’s Sky Bet League Two clash with Rochdale at the JobServe Community Stadium on Tuesday evening (7:45pm).

Wright’s loan move from Aston Villa will add firepower to the U’s attack.

The 20-year-old Irish youth international has already tasted league football on similar deals with Walsall and Salford City

Heading out of Colchester is forward, Frank Nouble, who has joined Leyton Orient on loan until the end of the season.
