Colchester United have pepped up their attacking options with the loan signing of former frontman, Frank Nouble, from Plymouth Argyle.
The one-time West Ham striker left Colchester for the West Country outfit in the summer. He will remain in North Essex until the end of the season.
Nouble is joined at the JobServe Community Stadium by Charlton Athletic midfielder Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu, who has signed a permanent deal with the club.
This is Wiredu’s second spell with the U’s. The 21-year-old made ten appearances for the club during a loan spell from the Addicks, under the management of John McGreal.
Also through the door is left-sided defender, Josh Doherty. Another loan signing, this time from League Two rivals, Crawley Town.
Departing Colchester is popular left-back, Cohen Bramall, who has joined League One club Lincoln City for an undisclosed fee.
