Tricky FA Cup ties for Spurs and Hammers

Brian Jeeves

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United will have to overcome tricky opposition if they are to make further progress in this seasons Emirates FA Cup.

The fourth and fifth-round matches were pulled out of the hat, with Spurs facing Wycombe Wanderers at Adams Park, while the Hammers – having squeezed past Vanarama National League side Stockport County – host Sky Bet League One side, Doncaster Rovers.

The Chairboys and Lilywhites paths crossed back in January 2017 when a crowd of 31,440 witnessed a pulsating fourth-round tie which the North Londoners eventually won by four goals to three.

Should Tottenham prevail in Buckinghamshire, they will face the winners of Everton’s tie with Sheffield Wednesday at Goodison Park. Meanwhile, a win for West Ham over Doncaster will set up a mouthwatering trip to either Manchester United or Liverpool.
