Two men have been arrested on suspicion of a string of offences following a car chase.
Officers were alerted to a car near to the junction of the A130 and A1245 at 6.20pm yesterday, which was linked to a theft from a shop and threats made to staff.
The car failed to stop and a pursuit was authorised which went through Galleywood and Stock before being brought to a stop in Miles Gray Road in Basildon.
A 41 year-old man from Laindon and a 48 year-old man from Basildon were arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and theft from a shop.
The 41 year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and drug driving, while the 48 year-old has also been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence.
