Two men have been arrested after a disturbance in Southend.

Police were called to the scene, in a car park off Lucy Road, at about 4.25am this morning, Sunday August 14.

It was reported that a group of people had been fighting in the car park and that two men had been injured.

Officers found both men had sustained head injuries and they were taken to hospital for treatment.

Two men, both aged in their 20s, have been arrested on suspicion of GBH. They remain in custody for questioning.

Detective Sergeant Matt Longden, who is leading the investigation, said: “Thankfully neither victim has sustained injuries which are thought to be life-threatening or life-changing and we have acted quickly to make two arrests in connection to this incident.

“I would like to thank those who have already come forward to give their account of what happened in the early hours of this morning but we are appealing to anyone who is yet to speak to us to come forward and do so.”
