Two males were due to appear in court on Saturday charged with offences following the death of an 88-year old lady in Romford.
Kai Cooper – 18, of Cleve Road, Leatherhead and a 15-year-old boy from Southend, who cannot be named because of his age, have been charged with the manslaughter of Josephine Smith and arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered.
Both were also charged with assault by beating with relates to a separate offence on October 27 in High Road, Ilford.
The charges follow an incident where police were called to reports of a fire at a residential address in Queens Park Road, Romford, on Thursday October 28.
Ms Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.
