Everton 2-2 Tottenham Hotspur
Harry Kane took his tally to the season to 26 in all competitions with a brace at Everton but he could be a doubt for next weekend’s Carabao Cup final with Manchester City after hobbling off in the latter stages at Goodison Park.
The England skipper fired Spurs into the lead shortly before the half-hour mark, then salvaged a point, seizing on a mix-up between Michael Keane and Mason Holgate to rifle home, after Gylfi Sigurdsson’s brace – the first from the spot after a coming together between Sergio Reguilonand James Rodriguez had handed the Toffees the lead.
But Tottenham’s concern grew when Kane appeared to land awkwardly while defending an Everton corner – he was immediately replaced by Dele Alli.
The draw did very little to improve the North Londoners hopes of a top-four finish to the campaign. They return to Premier League action on Wednesday, April 21 when Southampton visit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (6pm). Spurs then face Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday 25 (4:30pm).
