Two men remanded in custody in connection with raid on Basildon petrol station

Two men have been charged with a robbery at a petrol station.

Money and cigarettes were taken from Toomeys Service Station in Westmayne, Basildon, in the early hours of Sunday January 3.

Sam Chambers, 29, of Wimbish End, Pitsea, and Jamie Wilson, 45, of Great Oxcroft, Laindon, have been charged with robbery.

Wilson was also charged with possession of a knife in a public place.

They appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court on Monday January 4 and were remanded in custody to appear at Basildon Crown Court on February 1.
