Garon Park Walking Football Club over 50s’ section won two of their three matches in the latest round of fixtures staged at Melbourne Park, Chelmsford.
The Southend-based side didn’t get off to the best of starts, skipping to a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Billericay Town Blues.
Town led 2-0 early in the second half and despite a penalty from Mike Allpress, Garon was unable to retrieve the situation.
Paul Holloway bagged a brace while Neil Oriordan was also on target as Garon raced into a three-goal lead against Billericay Town Whites. However, they had to stand firm in the face of some late pressure after the New Lodge outfit reduced the arrears to 3-2.
A straightforward 2-0 triumph over Beacon Hill Rovers concluded their latest sequence – Holloway and Al Bradley on target. Garon Park moves up to tenth in the Essex Walking Football League table as a result.
