A man has died following a collision on the A127 near Laindon.
Police were called shortly after 6pm yesterday, Sunday February 2, to reports of a collision involving a red Mini and a parked lorry in a layby near the Fortune of War roundabout.
The Mini driver, a 24-year-old man from the Southend area, was taken to hospital but sadly died this morning, Monday February 3.
The London-bound A127 was closed until about 12.30am this morning while forensic examination work was carried out.
Witnesses on the A127 who saw the Mini travelling along the A127 before the collision are asked to contact the Serious Collision Unit on 01245 240590 or email CollisionAppeal@essex.pnn.police.uk
