U’s extend their unbeaten sequence to three

Rochdale 1-1 Colchester United

Colchester United extended their unbeaten Sky Bet League Two sequence to three matches following a 1-1 draw with Rochdale at the Crown Oil Arena.

The U’s took a 40th-minute lead in bizarre circumstances when Rochdale’s Max Taylor somehow managed to find his own net with a dreadful backpass.

However, Jimmy Keohane levelled the score just after the hour for the home side.

Gene Kennedy could have won it for Colchester late on after Charlie Daniels fashioned an opening.

The U’s return to Sky Bet League Two action on Saturday, September 4 when Sutton United visit the JobServe Community Stadium (3pm).
