Colchester United 1-1 Barrow
A late goal from Tom Beadling left Colchester United frustrated as fellow strugglers, Barrow earned a share of the Sky Bet League Two spoils at the JobServe Community Stadium.
In a well-contested encounter, Brendan Sarpong-Wiredu’s effort was ruled out for a foul on Barrow stopper, Joel Dixon, while Scott Quigley’s angled effort provided the Cumbrians best moment.
However, it was the U’s who took the lead. Callum Harriott firing home after Frank Nouble and Courtney Senior had fashioned an opening.
Sarpong-Wiredu passed up a decent opportunity to double the U’s advantage from close range, and that eventually proved costly as Beadling restored parity with a terrific effort from eighteen yards, two minutes from time.
The draw leaves Colchester six points clear of the dropzone in 22nd place. They return to Sky Bet League Two action on Friday, April 9 when they take on Oldham Athletic at Boundary Park (7pm).
