Newport County v Colchester United – Sky Bet League Two – Rodney Parade – Report
Newport County 1-2 Colchester United
Colchester United staged a superb second-half revival to take the point and throw a huge spanner in the works of Newport County’s already fading Sky Bet League Two play-off hopes.
The U’s trailed at the break thanks to Dom Telford’s goal five minutes before the interval. However, the North Essex side followed up last weekend’s 3-0 victory over Bradford City with another maximum haul after substitute, John Akinde levelled and then turned provider for Noah Chilvers to win it with his eighth goal of the season.
The U’s moved up to fifteenth place as a result. They return to Sky bet League Two action on Saturday, April 30 when Walsall visit the JobServe Community Stadium (3pm).
