Colchester United’s recent Sky Bet League Two revival was concluded by an impressive Walsall side at the Banks’s Stadium.

The U’s headed to the Black Country unbeaten in three league outings. However, they were undone by a first-half brace from Otis Khan. The first, a close-range effort following Brendan Kiernan’s centre. Then the Ashton-under-Lyne-born midfielder fizzed home after Stephen Ward had fashioned an opening.

Jack Earing headed a third for the Saddlers midway through the second period. Colchester slip to twentieth as a result.

The U’s return to Sky Bet League Two action on Saturday, December 18 when Hartlepool United visit the JobServe Community Stadium (7:45pm).
