Colchester United’s recent unbeaten Sky Bet League Two sequence was concluded by Alfie McCalmont’s early goal for promotion-chasing Carlisle United at Brunton Park.

McCalmont found the net after just four minutes, slipping the ball under U’s keeper, Kieran O’Hara following Connor Wood’s poor defensive header.

The results saw Colchester slip to eighteenth place but they remain nine points clear of the dropzone.

Colchester United return to Sky Bet League Two action on Saturday, February 25 when Northampton Town visit the JobServe Community Stadium (3pm).
