U’s winless run continues

Stevenage 0-0 Colchester United

It’s now eight Sky Bet League Two matches without a victory for out of sorts Colchester United, although they did manage to claim a welcome point and a clean sheet from this otherwise timid affair with struggling Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium.

The U’s enjoyed the better of proceedings but were unable to find a way through. Kwame Poku and Tommy Smith went coles for the visitors, while Dean Gerken had to be on his toes to deny former U’s frontman, Luke Norris, and Elliott List.

List struck the woodwork as Stevenage looked to pull clear of the dropzone. But Colchester passed up reasonable chances of their own to end their miserable run – Courtney Senior and Noah Chilvers – off-target as the game finished goalless.

Colchester United return to Sky Bet League Two action on Friday, January 29 when Scunthorpe United visit the JobServe Community Stadium (7pm).
