Wakering left frustrated as their season ends in disappointment

Wakering Walking Football Club’s over 50s and 60s teams were left frustrated at the conclusion of their respective Essex Walking Football League campaigns.

The over 60s side missed out on a second-successive title after Garon Park failed to fulfil their final fixture with rivals, Norwich City. The Canaries subsequently awarded three points to take the title despite Wakering’s superior record from matches played.

Meanwhile, the villagers over 50s team were on the wrong end of single-goals defeats at the hands of Romford and Norwich City at Melbourne Park, leaving them in a creditable sixth place with twenty-seven points.
