Wanstead see off Billericay to go top of the table

Half-centuries from Tom Simmons and Robin Das helped Wanstead & Snaresbrook over the line against Billericay at Overton Drive, claiming a seven-wicket victory with just under five overs to spare.

Earlier, in-form skipper, Darren Ironside, reached 102 off 110 balls, while Matthew Bell chipped in with 41 as Billericay posted a modest 197/8 – Eshun Kalley with 3/47 and Zain Shahzad, 2/47, ding their bit with the ball for the East Londoners.

Simmons hit 59 and Das 62 – Hassan Chowdhury (29) and Naivedyam Dwivedi (13) there at the end as Wanstead claimed their third victory of the season, and leapfrogged Brentwood to go top of the Gooch Division after the first month of matches.
