Wanstead & Snaresbrook 196/5 (32.0 overs)
Chelmsford won the toss and elected to bat
Wanstead & Snaresbrook won by five wickets
Wanstead & Snaresbrook comfortably negotiated the chase set by Chelmsford to win their opening Gooch Division encounter at Chelmer Park.
Dan Hagen hit 90 off 100 balls, while Sean Sullivan remained unbeaten on 52. However, those around them fell relatively cheaply as Chelmsford posted 193/8 – Jahansher Akbar claiming 3/52 for the visitors with the ball.
And that total proved insufficient as Wanstead & Snaresbrook eased home with eight overs to spare.
Robin Das hit an impressive 52, while Kishen Velani’s 48 proved to be more than useful in the East Londoners success – Andy Styan and James Clifford with two wickets apiece for the beaten home side.
